Netflix paid the entire $100 million budget for K-Pop Demon Hunters plus a $25 million fee to Sony Pictures, resulting in a $20 million profit for Sony on the deal, according to SlashFilm and other reports. As a result, Netflix controls the film and its future franchise potential, while Sony receives a much smaller slice of the profits from soundtrack sales, music publishing, and potential merchandise.
